Welcome to the leadership podcast. I'm Jeff I've been a licensed firearm dealer for 13 years, and I'm passionate about supporting our second minute rights. We will cover in this podcast, various topics related to the second moment. Plus any other topics of the day that are interesting or relevant? I might even slip into some sports. stories or some movie, a topic occasionally, and I hope that you find this informative and you can at least take away a little nugget each week that you didn't know. Now I'm hopping on this week. A little out of schedule because of the Supreme court just came down with its rulings on several pending cases that they hadn't picked up yet. Some disappointing data is extremely disappointing that they had denied cert on a number of the second amendment cases that were pending before them. Those cases that they denied cert on our, Pena versus ran, which is a case challenging the California microstamping laws, which took effect in 2012. A goon versus lips in which is a challenge to the past to carry laws, Mormon versus Healy, which is a challenge to the state ban on this so-called assault, weapons, Rogers versus Cornell Cheeseman, polio, and see the lift versus New Jersey. All we're challenging the New Jersey carry laws and the justifiable need requirement for a carry permit. Now possible. versus Polozi, which takes on similar requirements for the state of the airline. A cult versus role challenges. The Illinois law barring a resident from 45 other States from applying for non-resident concealed carry license. And Wilson versus cook, which takes on the Illinois County ban on modern sporting rifles. A man's versus bar, which was a case challenging the ban on interstate sales of handguns. Now. Why did they deny these well? There's a lot of theories. but primarily I believe that they, the justices were unclear on where chief justice Roberts would fall on this. So the four justices, which has already stated that they thought it was time for a second amendment case be heard are at Thomas. Cavenaugh courtship of courses and, Elina. And, It only takes four justices to, Pick up a case for the Supreme court. And they had all stated that it was time that it. This be aired. It's been 10 years in a lot of the lower courts were kind of dumb in their noise. No, it knows. Is that the Supreme court, versus, for cards, the Hiller ruling. But. so it looked like we were prime to at least one of these cases be picked up. And I think from what I've heard and the other's opinions are they were unclear on where proper would fall and he can be the fifth vote on, on the near these. And so. think they may hopefully there, you know, holding back a little bit, cause there's still this time to pick up. So, and there is one case still out there, Rodriguez vs. City of San Jose, which is. her, Firearms were confiscated, illegally, and the government, refuses to give them back. And they've just told her that she needs to go buy new ones. So that was still pending out there. And the justices could, you know, rule on a variety of topics within that case. It's obtained for the second amendment, but it's very disappointing that, none of these were picked up because there was a lot of good, Legal facts that can beat a discuss within each of these cases that can. really solidify the second amendment going forward. We've talked about, you know, that there's a right to. Right to keep arms. But the right to carry or bear arms has. I have not yet really been, reviewed by the Supreme court. So again, the theory is, is that. chief justice Roberts was either going to the left and would not be supportive or really want to wait till the, election because to see what the political wins, tell four. public opinion. Which I think is that's disappointing. But. so there's still hope, but right now it is displaying that we hear all of these cases were shot down and it really, it goes out why it's so important this upcoming election. And that we vote for president Trump to be reelected because we do have some aging justices on the court that, Could give us an opportunity to get that fifth solid conservative judge. we thought we had him on. Bush appointed Robert, but he has been very disappointing, but the two that, Trump has put on had been. very encouraging. And I think that he would be able to give us another justice that would be able to push these types of cases forward. But in the meantime, we kind of just keep watching hopeful at the Supreme court. Doesn't turn down this other case, the Rodriguez case and seaboard, that all lands. So. We just want to hop on. Get that out to you. And, we'll be watching things it's like, They come forward and, we'll be updating you on any new changes that should pop in. So, like I said, I always say. subscribe to my channel.
