Welcome to the live shoot podcast. My name is Jeff Dolan. I've been an FFL dealer for the last 14 years. And this podcast, we talk about all things related to the second amendment might throw in a sports story or just something going on in the. Everyday news. So welcome. Welcome. Welcome on this independence day weekend. And I tell you this, this is really one of my favorite times of year. As a kid, I didn't like it as much because it kind of marks the middle of summer, even though. Officially summer just started in June, but from a being out for the school year, 4th of July kind of was right in the middle and meant that we were downhill. And we were gonna go back to school in about, you know, six to seven more weeks. And wasn't crazy about that, that milestone, but as I've grown up. I just love this time of year. I love to see all the flags. I love the sense of patriotism. I love to see the revolutionary war documentaries that, that come on at this time of year. I just, I, I really enjoy it. And I look back, you know, and I wa I was thinking about December 17, 77 as the continental troops army, the continental army and George Washington. Were camped at valley forge, they were short on supplies. Morale was down, their enlistments were up for renewal and it just, it looked like that the continental army was in, in serious trouble, had not had many successes on the battlefield and and things were really in the dire straight and, and coming from the position that, that the colonists, the continental army. Was the underdog going in that this was fr from all perspectives of just a futile attempt to take down the, the, the England, the great Britain's army and, and rebel and become our own nation was seriously in jeopardy. And at the time when our forefather sat there on July 2nd, which is today, Declared our independence. And then on July 4th, they came in and they actually signed the document knowing that they were signing their death warrants in a sense, and that, you know, if this did not go perfectly. They all would, would die. They would hang, they would be seen as traders. And, and the countries we know today would not, would not exist. And then, you know, you look at times tough when, like I was talking about ed valley forge and just, this is not going well. And just thinking, are we winning? Are we winning? And then I look, I think about, you know, Lincoln. And during the civil war and the country's torn apart and thinking, are we winning? You know, where are we going? And honestly, lately I've been thinking, are we winning? Are we winning? Is this going in the right direction? And we've had, we had some great successes this week. We had the bro decision from the Supreme court, basically saying that two things. The second amendment is an individual, right? And you can, it is also meant to protect the ability to carry a bear arms outside of your home. So that was a great victory. We had the, the, the overturning of the Roe V. Wade and. From my perspective from our traditional conservative values. That is a huge thing. And, and when I talk about, are we winning? I think this country is going down a path, or it has people that wanna take it down a path away from those conservative and traditional values. And I think that is what will be our detriment. then we've had, you know, subsequently to the, the ruined decision, you know, the, the Supreme court vacated and sent back to lower courts, three other cases, one dealing with. High capacity magazines in California. The salt ban weapon in Maryland and another concealed carry permit issue out of Hawaii saying, Hey, because if we decided this, you guys need to go and revisit these cases, big victories, big victories, victory. After victory, it has been been a success. Then on the flip side, we've had the coming out of the, the, the stupid. Bill to protect societies that just signed by our communities by Biden. And in that we are redefining what it is to be a dealer. We're making it more difficult for people under 21 to purchase firearms. We are putting into place the potential for red flag laws and. Violating our, our due process as well as infin infringing upon our ability to, to bear arms, not, not positive. And the fact that we had Republicans go over and, and look at this as a compromise, we have had the ATF come out with their, you know, their ruling on privately made firearms and putting that into place. And. These things that I've talked about and others are about creating these lists and creating lists so that they can come and potentially confiscate. So definitely they are not victories at all. So I look in the, the midst of, of the snow and the, the freezing weather and our supplies are down. Are we winning? Are we winning if you listen to the media and their sentiment about this country, and I just saw, for example, that the democratic party in Arizona is having an F U 4th of July party. Really, really? I mean, there are so many people that, that hate this country or that they. The, the narrative is that this is a horrible country and that we've gotta change it. We've gotta become more inclusive and tolerant. And that is our problem that, that we're not teaching, you know all these leftist beliefs and that you know, we're putting guns and we're just radicals out there. And that is not the case. That is not the way the people in the middle of the country feel. And, and. You know, the, the, to me, I've heard, you know, the, the, the measure of the health of the country is, are more people wanting to come in than, than go out. That is a problem that we're having today. But the people that are coming to the United States are not coming because this is a horrible place to live and they're not coming because we are teaching the 16, 19 project. And that we're not because we're teaching transgender rights in to our fifth five year olds. That is not why they're. They're coming because this country is about freedom and independence and the ability to stand on your own and make your own way. And that is what makes this country great. And so, I do believe we are still winning the, the forefathers put in place and motion a great country. And this country is awesome and we're winning and we have to the motive and the narrative and the message of this podcast has always been to. Fight fight, fight. And we have to keep fighting. We, we are getting this done. Our voices are being heard. We've gotta put better politicians in place. We've gotta put people that love this country and don't, aren't out for their own self-interest into office. We have to stand up. We have to have our voices heard. And we have to celebrate this country and let everybody know that we love this country and that we're standing up for what it is meant to be a United be American. And so I say, happy independence day. Enjoy your 4th of July. No, we are winning. Keep fighting and go out there. Show everybody that is we, we love being Americans. Fly your flags, be prideful and celebrate and go and tell, let everybody know that it is still great to live in the United States of America. Happy 4th of July. Enjoy this weekend. Be safe, and I will talk to you later.
