We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity do Orain and establish this constitution for the United States of America. Welcome. Welcome. Welcome. This is the lib to shoot podcast. And what was that? That was the preamble to the constitution. And why am I reading that to you today? Well, today is September 16th, tomorrow, September 17th is actually constitution day. What is constitution day? It is a day that is set aside to recognize and celebrate the constitution. It used to be called citizenship day and then 2004. There was a bill passed that changed it to constitution day and. It was also passed in may of 2005 that any school requiring federal funding on September 17th or a day previous to that, or after that, if it falls on the weekend shall study the constitution. Is that happening in our, in our schools? I don't know. That's another topic really. I just wanted to discuss and recognize that it's constitution day. I wanted to read the preamble. I know many of us had to memorize that as kids. But I don't know if that's happening, you know, there's interesting com wording in this first, the one that always that steps out to me, especially in these times, It says, we, the people first that is critical. That is critical. We, the people today, it feels like we, the go. No, this country is run by. We, the people, the go government are, are subject to us. We are not subject to them. We need to continue to remind them of that fact in order to form a more perfect union. What it doesn't say is to perform a perfect union. And what, why, why is that different? There was a recognition that there was things that were wrong and needed to be changed and that we were gonna work on changing those, but we'd never be a perfect country because we're made people and people are, are sinful creatures by nature. And. To have a perfect union is unachievable. And there's this expectation of our forefathers of the time and throughout history that these people would be perfect. They've made mistakes, but they are honorable people that have put us in place to be here, the greatest country in America. But then here, here's what it's supposed to do. Justice ensure domestic tranquility provide for the common defense. Promote general welfare and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity. Do we feel like we're doing that? Just a question then, you know, we had the bill of rights and that's where our second amendment comes in and I just wanted to bring up again what. What is said before that we all know what the bill rights are, but it says the conventions of a number of the states having at the time of their adopting the constitution expressed a desire in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers that further declaratory and restrictive causes should be added. And as extending the ground, a public competence in the government will best ensure the Ben. Beneficial ends of its institution resolved by the Senate and house of representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled two thirds of both houses, concurring that the following articles be proposed to the legislatures of these several states as amendments to the constitution of the United States, all or any of which articles when ratified by three, four of said, legislatures to be valid of all interests and purposes, as part of said constitution. So why were they. Because they wanted to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, it being them, the government. And that is why these were put in place. So when you look at the second amendment and people are saying, it's not an individual, right. It's the right of the middle issue. No, it is the right of the people. And we have to remember that this was put in as a right for the people so that the government. Would not MIS construct or abuse its powers. That is the purpose of the second amendment. That is why they're there to prevent the government from abusing its powers. And don't let anybody else ever tell you otherwise it's not about hunting. It never was about hunting. It's about keeping people like Joe Biden from using his F 15 to, to destroy us. But. That's for another day. I just wanna thank you. And I just wanted to put this out there to recognize the United States constitution and constitution day. Thank you and have a good day.
