Well, welcome to the live shoot podcast. My name is Jeff Do, and I've been a licensed firearm dealer for the last 15 years. In this podcast, we talked about all things related to the Second Amendment, as well as my throw in a sports story or something going on in, in the rest of the news. So welcome, welcome, welcome. It is a great day here and just jumped on for another quick podcast and I ran across this story the other day and I classified as duh. All of us that are Second Amendment supporters. Aren't surprised by this, but I thought I would get it out there. You can put it in your arsenal as to when you're talking to your leftist liberal friends and about the Second Amendment and concealed carry and all those. But a new report. I'm reading from an article that was entitled that an I, Emma Colton wrote it, and I'm not sure what agency she's with, but the article says FBI under counts number of times armed citizens have thwarted active shooting incidents. So a new report from the crime. Prevention Research Center found that the FBI data contains massive, massive errors when tracking active shooting incidents. Undercounting, How often armed citizens have author active shooting situations over the last years? I know none of us are surprised by that. It was on to say that although collecting such data as fraught with challenges, some see a pattern of distortion in the FBI numbers because the error almost exclusively go one way, minimizing the life saving actions of armed citizens. That report, which would provide the Fox News this week by Crime Prevention Research Center Pounder, and President John Lott. States in the report that data released by the nonprofit shows that 34.4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens between 2014 and 2021. However, that FBI data only shows 4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens. During that time, all in 360 active shooting incidents were identified by the C prc between that time period with 124 stopped by armed citizen. The FBI only identified 1,352 and with only 11 thwarted by armed citizens. Now, It says I like this quote, whether deliberately through bias or just incompetence, the FBI database of active shooters cannot be trusted. Gary Moer, an images professor at Simon Fraser University in Canada argues in the report. So I definitely believe there is bias and I definitely believe there is incompetence. And it goes on to state various different ways that they have identified. The numbers were, were way off and where they look into some specific cases that were counted, but the FBI didn't even have'em in their, their in their data. But, you know, one, one example is if you go back to the mall shooting that happened at Indiana, where that 22 year old put eight out of 10 in center Math. I think that's the number from about 40. Yard. I think I heard 40 yards at 40 feet. I'm not sure. But it was an incredible shot. The left leading media downplayed that, and they, and the, and they said that liberal media argued that this was just an unusual case. It doesn't happen very often. And they cited the FBI data thus trying to discourage people from doing this, that it's, this is really rare. This is something that doesn't happen very often. And this goes right to the point of why the data's wrong, because law enforcement agencies don't typically compile this type of data and give it to the fbi. Where is the FBI getting their data that they're using to identify mass shootings and those stored by armed citizens? From the media, they're going through news reports and that's how they're compiling their data. Well, the media is not going to be reporting where heroic armed citizens. Save somebody's life. You can listen to a variety of different shows. And the American, American Rifleman, they they will have an armed citizens report. Different podcasts will talk about different armed citizens and where week after week that can report on different people that have prevented a crime or a shooting using their handgun. And that's the other thing. This is just dealing in mass shootings. We're not talking about other crimes. We're not talking about the convenience store robbery or, or robbery of your home or somebody trying to carjack you. Those also get don't get reported at all. Sometimes they, the, the, the victim doesn't even reported. And the other thing that the FBI's stats don't take into account is where somebody. Even just by displaying their weapon prevented the shooting. And that happens more times than not. That is the biggest by studies have shown the biggest number of, of instances out there that actually prevent crimes is just having that weapon and showing the criminal that you do have it and, and not being a victim. And so again, this is just another. No s moment. I don't, I don't curse. So, but none of us that listen to this podcast probably should be surprised, but again, the FBI and the media grossly under report the times that people are heroic and use their firearms to prevent another crime from happening, prevent other people from being injured and that. Again, more firearms don't lead to more crime. It makes us safer and that is what we have to continue to preach. So, you know, it's very important to get these type of messages out. This is a podcast you need to share with people. I'll link to the article in the show note so you can actually have it. But again, it's important to know that the founders were very wise. When they put it in the second Amendment, we have to defend it. And we are just a few days, not even under a month away from the midterm elections. And I'm gonna continue, encourage you to donate to co Campaigns like JD Vance and Blake Masters and Carrie Lake and on and on, on, there's all sorts of in the show notes. I have a variety of listings of, of different campaigns of people we need to be supporting and get this word out. We've gotta share, we've gotta communicate. We've got to dominate in the midterms this year to continue to protect our Second Amendment. So I appreciate for your listen. Have a great rest of your week.
