Well, welcome to the live shoot podcast. Mine is Jeff Dowdell and I'm a licensed firearm dealer for the last 13 years. I'm passionate about our second amendment rights. And in this podcast, we talk about all things related to the second amendment, as well as I'm not throwing a sports story or something that's going on in our current environment. Well, today is Saturday, February 27th, 2021. And I can say that this last week has been a little less of in full than the last Oh than the previous week. Things returned a little bit back to normal here in Texas. There are still a lot of people out there that are going through some tough times though. Their homes have been flooded, destroyed businesses are still closed because of a lot of the damage. And so it, this is going to be something that's going to take a while for us to get over, but Texans will survive. We are a resilient bunch and we will get it done. I am proud to be from live in Texas. And I know we will overcome this. So just keep your prayers out for everybody here in Texas, still. So this week for us personally baseball season started. My two boys, sophomore and senior are in there. High school baseball season. They had their opener this week again for Lucas create Christian Academy, which is kind of our cross town rival. We have a. Friendly rivalry with Lucas. It's a, it's a close school. Similar to ours. And we compete. We're no longer in the same conference. But we do play preconference pre D district games against each other. And we won, we were victorious seven to two. And so it's a good start to the season. And it was fun to get back out on the baseball field and watch the boys play. So a lot going on this week in the world. SeaPak has started and I don't know. We'll see if I I'll talk about any of that next week. Lots of speeches going president Trump speaks on Sunday, so we will be curious to see what he says. But you know, I wanted to, I wanted to talk about a person that has. She has been making the news. And she's quite a controversial figure. And that's a Congresswoman. Marjorie Taylor green out of Georgia. She is a Honeybadger. I think she is quite controversial. She has been attributed to some statements that have caused some controversy. She doesn't have a filter. That is, you know one thing I think that you can say about her. And you know, I don't want to get in, I. You know, to all the controversy around her. I mean, There are some things that she says that I don't, I don't necessarily agree with or are question, but, you know You know, There's some conspiracy theories that she's a spouse too. And, you know, truthfully in this last four years, I have become less more believing in some. Quote-unquote conspiracy theory. If I can see what our government. Are FBI or CIA or justice department, what they're capable of doing that. We never really thought that they could do so, you know, who am I to say that certain things are not conspiracy theories, but. Outside of our controversies, she is a Honeybadger for the second amendment. And w I think we need to support her. She is also very vocal about a lot of other topics, and I, you know, thing I appreciate about her. Is she kinda is behaving like, you know, I think I would like to, if I was elected to Congress, She's not following what is considered standard inappropriate in terms of the way she approaches her job. But you know, first who is Representative green. She's out of Georgia. She her family are small business owners. Earn her husband owned a construction company. She has previously owned a gym that she bought and sold. So she used a small business owner she's coming right from the. The the grassroots and she graduated from the university of Georgia. She has a degree in business administration and You know of. You know, I think the thing that drives. A lot of the left crazy. Is that she is conservative. She is a. She's Christian. She is a pro-Trump manga person. And. She's a woman. And so she does not fit into the mold that, that she's supposed to be fitting into. And she's a mother, she's got three children. And so you add up all those factors, Christian mother. A woman, Donald Trump, manga conservative. Small business owner and she is. W falls into all the categories of the left that. Their venom and hate will go towards, but you know, she is one of the new freshmen in the class this year and she came out of the Gates swinging for our second amendment. She promised that she would, and she did. So just to speak a little bit, so right out of the Gates, she was one of the very first. Co-sponsors. To the HR 38, which is the concealed carry reciprocity act, you know, mandating that States recognized conceal carry permits from all other States. She, it also, she was a primary co-sponsor on HR, one 55 of the hearing protection act two, a. You know, basically make suppressors not covered under the national firearms act. Then, you know, she came out with her own. Bill the second amendment preservation act, H R nine nine three. And what Sappa as short as short for, is it It's going to cut all the federal spending from implementing enforcing or advancing any measure law regulation, or guidance related to the lawful use purchase sale possession or transportation of firearms by any citizen of United States for fiscal year 2021. And it prohibits any federal funds from enforcing or implementing regulations or guidance issued by the Bureau of alcohol tobacco. And firearms promulgated after November 1st, 2021. So she says it quote, after a, this is throughout my campaign for Congress. I promised the people of Northwest Georgia. That would be the strongest defender of gun rights on Capitol Hill. The second amendment preservation act prevents the federal government from using our taxpayer dollars to enforce gun control on law. Abiding sentences. Boom. So, you know, as she came out of the Gates with that, you know, and I think with between her and the horn bar, Gilbert who, I'm another fan of, out of Colorado? I think we've got two strong women in there that are standing up for our second amendment. But that she didn't stop there. And just last week, She released HR one, one, three, two. Which is the gun owner privacy act. And She said that the her quote was the gun owner, owner privacy act protects the right to keep and bear arms by preventing the feds from collecting data to monitor and log gun ownership in America. This legislation will give Americans legal recourse and the ability to Sue the federal government and, and collect damages for records illegally stored. So now she's also looking for our privacy of, of all of our gun owners as well. So You know, I'm I'm enjoying watching representative green. If you did not see the video she released Or later, like just a few days ago of her taking the tour. Of of the border wall. Around the Capitol. And talking about the equality act. I'm going to link it in my show notes. It is quite Epic. She she lays it on the line and she tells the people, she shows him, you know, we were tearing down the walls that protect our border from illegal immigration. But the American people can't have access to our capital. So we're afraid of our own citizens, but anybody that's coming in illegally just come on in and then. She also posted a sign outside her office. That said that, you know, basically there are two genders, male, and female. And so she is a controversial person out there. And I think when I enjoy watching her. She is standing up for our second amendment and then we have to stand up and congratulate and support her. You know, In terms of when she's coming up again for reelection in 2022. We've, we've got to be there and support her because she's proven to be a, quite the advocate for the second amendment. Now where some of her bills end up going, I don't know, but the fact that she's throwing them out there. It's a lot more to say about a lot more. It says a lot more than what some other people are doing. So. I encourage you to follow representative green. Quite excited that she's on our side. Another thing. An article came out town hall. Released an article about A project that the citizens committed for the rights to keep and bear arms launched last year. And it's getting a little more press where they, there was, they created a list of companies and CEO who, who back gun control initiatives and they they've published that list. And I'll link to the list and in the show notes of this as well. And the purpose. They say it's not for For boycotts But just for more education, we're providing this information. We help gun owners are making reasonable decisions about businesses, which businesses. To patronize. This might convince some businesses to rethink their core values. Now. I do encourage you all to, to research this. I'll give you some names of some of the companies that are on their list. You know, some don't surprise you. We got the alphabet alphabet, Inc, which is a, which is a Google, M a T and T bad robot, the Hayne capital or good buddy. Out in Utah company. Mitt Romney. Bumble burger King Comcast. Let's see Delta airlines, Dick's sporting goods, which is one that I've already crossed off my list. You know, Variety of them. And, and Levi. The, the MSNBC, no surprises there. And I don't know exactly what got a lot of these companies on the list. I do you know, so I encourage you to do your own research. Now some of the things that did put them on. So in a recent article that they, I saw an article I saw where they added a Sonic. And subway. And because they don't, they prohibit arms on there. Their premises, their place of businesses now. In regards to that Sonic and subway. Our our franchises. So those are independent business owners that Own those. So that is not the big corporate. Conglomerates out there like yum brands, for example. And they, they may, they may be you know posting that, you know, concealed carry is not allowed in their premises. And, and that's, you know, for your. You know your own decision to make about how you feel about that. In terms of, of patronizing those businesses. But then also you have to look at, you know, that they are. They, they. Those businesses are owned by your own neighbors as well. And again, we want to support small business owners. So you know, there is a lot that you have to take into account. But I am personally have been already starting to make some changes and moving some business from companies after the election and just. You know, I've tried to get off, you know I completely got off Twitter. I'm very limited on Facebook trying to use all the other social media, trying to move off of Google, which that is a harder challenge. I'm transferring my bank accounts at bank of America. And you know recently. You know, moved mall, whining website stuff off of GoDaddy, which is another one that I don't think GoDaddy's on this list, but they need to be. Personally, And so, you know, we all need to do those things that some are easier and than others. But for example, dicks. They implemented several years ago that they were raising the leak. Internally, they were raising the legal age to purchase a gun to 21 across the board, whether it's a handgun or a long rifle. And I disagree with that. So I have not gone to Dick's anymore. I have better alternatives. And so I choose to do that. So, you know, make those choices yourself. I'll look at the list, do your own research. I'm going to continue to, to research it and make my own decisions. But it will be in the show notes. As well. So again, you know, continue to support those representatives out there, like representative green. And, you know, make wise decisions about where you're spending your money. Thank you for listening. If you liked this podcast, like I always say, please go out and share it with others. You know subscribe to it. Give it a high rating. My contact information, all my social media is in the show notes. I'll put some con links to these articles in there as well. And just reach out to me and let me know what your thoughts are. And I will talk to you again next week.
