.Well, welcome to the leadership podcast. My name is Jeff doddle and I've been a licensed firearm dealer for the last 14 years on this podcast. We talk about all things related to the second amendment, as well as they might throw in a sports story or any other thing that might be going on in today's environment or a political arena. So today is Friday. Hopefully I'll get this recording on Friday. Hopefully I'll get it edited and updated on Friday. It has been a week for me, I don't know about y'all. I can't, it's been the longest week. It's finally Friday. Thank goodness. And I hope you all have had a good week as well. And yeah, a lot of crazy things going on in the world. And in my life just last weekend was that someday I'll have, I'll maybe tell a story on this, on a podcast, but yeah, it's it is finally Friday. Hopefully I have a quiet weekend planned w one bit of news is we did get our new Tesla. It, it finally arrived. And it is a beautiful car and it's fun to drive. It is fun to drive. So we can talk a little bit about Elon Musk and what he believes and doesn't believe. And so in his nuttiness, but I will say the Tesla, the company is putting out a very fine vehicle. And we did not buy it to be green by any means. Don't don't misinterpret that. I, I do believe that In the long run, that's probably zero sum in terms of of the greenness of the car with regards to the battery and disposable of the batteries and production of the car and, and all that. That's, I'm not under that illusion at all that. But it is a nice as an electric vehicle and, and fewer repairs, no oil changes, and it's just a nice car. It just really has a nice car. So enough about that. Well, I won't talk about this week is Gubernatorial race. Now I know most of my listeners are not in Texas. I'm in Texas. So my, my focus is a lot of times on Texas, but it has been said how Texas goes, the country will go. And this upcoming gubernatorial election between Greg Abbott and whoever from the Republican party challenges him. And then whoever from the Democrat party challenge is going to be an important election. And I say that one, because one person has thrown it or is at least seriously considering throwing his hat in the ring. And that is Robert Francis or Rourke or baito he is expressed some interest in running for governor. Now, remind you, he was in the house of representatives then had I failed Senate bid to try. The Ted group, Ted Cruz, and then he had a failed presidential bid here back in 2020. So he is hasn't had the greatest success but for some reason in Texas and across the country, he has become this personality. And when he was running for Senate, you know, it was, it was a close race. He only lost by three percentage points to Ted Cruz. And, you know, as you drive around in the area, I just, I thought more and more. Bumper stickers still see cars with beta bumper stickers on them. And he was popular and you know, what is concerning about eating? Well, if you remember the presidential election in the debate, he came out right out and said it, that he is going to come and take away our AR. In a case that he has no believes that there is no reason for, for anybody to have him president Biden then did announce in his campaign for person that he was going to make beta, his guns are, that hasn't happened yet, but he is definitely a, a serious threat to the second amendment. And we cannot allow him to become governor of the state of Texas, that it will completely begin. You know, a dismantling of the second amendment and, you know, Texas is a large state and the support that we have, you know, kinda since waves throughout the United States. And I think if that would, if he would become governor and he would start attacking and dismantling our second amendment here in the state of Texas and, and getting rid of some of the positive things that we've had in terms of the sanctuary. Constitutional carry all those things, getting put in place that that would then also happen in fact, over the rest of the country. Now. Interesting enough. Another Democrat. That has expressed some interest is Matthew McConaughey. And I don't have any idea about having Connie like him as an actor. He's funny. I'm not sure what his beliefs are except that he's a huge Texas Longhorn fan. Made some comments about guns and that he likes to hunt and, and things, but doesn't know about, you know, ever I should have these assault, rifles and things. And so I, you know, I don't know where he'll land, but You know, he's, he's, outpolling everybody right now and understood, you know, he he'd be the fun pick, you know, fun, fun, dad running the co running the state playing bongos naked. I think we really have to keep our focus on beta because I think he is a serious threat. And then when you flip it over and look at the Republican side, you know, the Republican side, it's not sad at all. Greg Abbott is, is going to have some serious challenges. And right now, you know, I don't have any intention of in the primaries choosing Greg Abbott. He has. Done some decent things. I mean, life for the constitutional carry. We've gotten all that through. That was more of our legislatures, but he's very, we're very weak on the COVID and the maximum eights and the lockdowns. He finally came to a census, but he has not stepped up and done anything. For the border made, he's had some big talk really hasn't done anything has not really seriously confronted the Biden administration has not gotten up in their girl. Like I wish he would. And you know, there's some decent contenders out there. And if you look at them, the ones that. At least maybe not necessarily to Claire, but sit at the signals. Alan West, former head of the Texas GOP and a Colonel in the army. Don Huffines businessman, Texas car dealerships. And then Chad pricer talk show hosts. Hypothesis said that. And truthfully right now between the four of them Abbott prey, Thur, Huffines and Alan West. And I've already expressed my opinion. Habit. I don't know where I'm going to land. I have to really see what they all say. Cause there's things about all of them that I like big fan of really all three of those, those gentlemen. They they are, think they are really truly manga. They are populous, they here strong against the border. They're definitely pro second amendment and I believe they would have Texas' interests, but in. Upfront, but which one's the better choice between all of them. I don't necessarily know, but I didn't even know that we need to keep beta on our radar. Can't take him lightly. We have, T's going to be a serious threat and we cannot afford to lose the Texas governors seat to anybody on the, on the democratic side, much less beta O'Rourke. So I just wanted to hop on, talk about that a little. Encourage y'all to keep Texas in mind. If you are in Texas, we need to start watching this selection and starting to really decide who we're going to go for and really put a full out front tack on and bring that person home because we have to continue to make Texas strong keep Texas solid on the second amendment. Keep it very, very We can't afford for it to start turning blue. So I appreciate everybody listening. Hope you all have a great weekend and I will talk to you next.
