Welcome to the Live to Shoot podcast. My name is Jeff Dole and I've been a licensed farm dealer for the last 18 years, and this podcast we talk about. All things, really the second amendment, anything else going on in the world, a sports story or anything else that I might find interesting. So welcome, welcome, welcome. Well, I'm going to start it off and talk about the elephant in the room for me, the Super Bowl. Obvious did not go as I had planned. I have, you know, said I'm a Chiefs fan. I'm from Kansas City. Did not see that happening. Thought that you know, the Eagles might be able to run on them with Saquon. And that might cause problems. But I never really saw us stopping the defense. And but not being able to protect Patrick and just being totally dominated like that, but That was that. This is now. Pitchers and catchers have reported Family's got a trip to spring training coming up in a little over a month So I'll be talking about that at some point But the big news is things just keep happening Donald Trump is flooding the zone as people are saying and just issuing, you know, executive orders and statements and policy changes and, you know, the left is, is, mine is blowing up. They're going after Elon and Doge and, you know, the, they're going to the courts and things are just crazy. But You know, this happened after I issued my podcast last week was the president's executive order regarding the second amendment. People have been waiting for him to do something about the second amendment. And so let's just kind of go through that, you know, cause we've kind of gone through and I'll, I'll kind of take a step through this after I read what, you know, what's been happening in regards to the second amendment, but Here's the, the, what the executive order says by the authority vested in me as president of the cons, by the constitution and the laws of the United States of America. It is hereby ordered section one, the second amendment is an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty. It has preserved the right of the American people to protect ourselves. Our families and our freedoms since the founding of our great nation because it is foundational to it is foundational to maintaining all other rights held by Americans. The right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed. Plan of action within 30 days of the date of this order. The attorney shall examine all orders, regulations, guidance plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies to assess any ongoing infringements of the second amendment rights of our citizens and present. present a proposed plan of action to the President through the Domestic Policy Advisor to protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans. In developing such a proposed plan of action, the Attorney General shall review, at a minimum, all Presidential and Agency's actions from January 2021 through January 2025. Who was President during that time? Hmm. Yeah, that purport to promote safety but may not impinge on the Second Amendment right, but may have impinged on the Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens. Rules promulgated by the American Department of Justice, including by the Bureau of the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives from January 2021 through January 2025 pertaining to firearms or federal firearms licensees, me, agencies, plans, orders, or actions regarding the so called enhanced regulatory policy pertaining to firearms or federal firearms license, Reports and related documents issued by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The positions taken by the United States in any and all ongoing potential litigation that affects or could affect the ability of Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Agencies. Classification of firearms and ammunitions. The process of applications to make, manufacture, transfer, or export firearms. Section 3. Implementation upon submission. The proposed plan of action described in Section 2 of this order. The Attorney General shall work with the Domestic policy advisor to finalize the plan of action and establish a process for implementation. And then it goes on and talks about, you know, this, you know, doesn't violate any other laws or anything like that. So You know, amazing, right? What all he's, he's essentially attacking everything the Biden administration is Potentially did during their term. So let's take a step back Pam Bondi gets nominated to to be the Attorney General. A lot of people in the 2A community expressed concerns about her second amendment stance, how firm she was on the second amendment because of things that she did or supported or defended like red flag laws raising the age of firearm purchases is all in, on the Florida, a lot of it all following, um, the, the school shooting there. Then, you know, she gets confirmed and then she comes out with a new policy statement and it said in there, one of the things said, shifting ATF resources to free resources to address more pressing priorities, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Farms, and Explosives shall shift resources from its alcohol and tobacco enforcement programs to focus on matters relating to other priorities set forth herein. No resources shall be diverted from the ATF's regulatory responsibilities, such as federal farm licenses and background checks. So again, to a community kind of, Hey, you know, they're just going to keep doing the same old thing, going after FFL dealers and the industry. And it looks like she's going to be pursuing some of the same initiatives as the as the previous administration. And You know, there was some, I, I posted in my newsletter, an assessment on, on that statement and based on the way the first administration was handled what that was actually trying to do. And so it was, it was more nuanced than, than a lot of people may have been doing it. But the, the one statement was, you know, Pam Bondi works at the pleasure of the president and the president has been very clear and. You know, he comes out with this second amendment order. And then now it's, it is clear, you know, the department of justice, Pam Bondi I think they're falling in line. I mean, and not that they were out of line, but I think they are lined up to support the president's initiative because what happened well. Very first thing is the ATF started, uh, pulling back some cases that they were, uh, trying, and this is a case Cologne versus the ATF. And this is about pistol braces and it's down in Florida and they filed this week. Following a change in administration on February 7th, 2025, President Trump issues an executive order titled Protecting Second Amendment Rights. Among other things, the order directs the Attorney General to examine various actions of executive departments and agencies to assess any ongoing infringements of Second Amendment Rights of our citizens and present a proposed plan of action to the President through the domestic court. policy advisor to protect the Second Amendment rights of the Americans. And the order specifically directs the Attorney General as part of that process to review all rules promulgated by the Department of Justice, including by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives from January 2021 to January 2025 pertaining to firearms. Then it goes on to say, sorry, get my pages mixed up here. In light of that development, the government respectfully moves to postpone the March 5th oral argument and to hold this case in the. Abbiance pending review of the challenge rule and the Abbiance will conserve party and judicial resources and promote the efficiency and orderly disposition of this appeal, including by ensuring that litigation is focused on enduring agency action and informed by the views of current agency leadership. The government respectfully proposes to update the court with a status report every 60 days. So they're doing it. They're going back and they're, they're going to start looking at all these things that the ATF did. And are they legal? Do they infringe on the Second Amendment? And do we need to reverse things? And at least Stop this litigation of some of these cases and this is the very first one that's happening to and I'm I am sure we're going to see more of these so very positive news happening on that front. It looks like that, you know, this this administration is extremely pro second amendment. If you ever listened to Don jr, his son he's actually on the board of grab a gun. And they're taking it public. And so he is a stream pro second amendment. He's probably the most gun guy, biggest gun guy in the Trump family. More so than the president himself. And he understands these issues. He hangs out with the two way community. He went to the shot show. So he's got this son in his ear. So I think that is a very positive. And I think that we're going to see some very positive. Things coming out of this administration as it pertains to the second amendment and the protection of our rights. So good news it keeps flowing. We're winning and we got to keep fighting though. We can't let our guard down because the left doesn't give up So with that being said, you'll have a great weekend. Share the show let everybody know things are happening, you know And if you run across one of these crazy left persons that's mind is blowing, you know What is wrong with you? You know, we're viewing what Americans spending trying to control our debt and doing, focusing on what is important to Americans, because that is what's happening right now. And there's not a constitutional crisis as they're liking to say. So again, thanks for listening, share and have a great weekend.
