Well, welcome to the Lift Shoot podcast. My name is Jeff Dol, and I've been a licensed farm dealer for the last 18 years. In this podcast, we talk about all things related to the Second Amendment, as well as anything else going on in the world. A sports story or anything else you might find interesting. So welcome, welcome, welcome. Well, yesterday was opening day. It's like a second Christmas for me, but the Rangers came up short bullpen issues, I think. We'll, we'll have to see how that goes, but welcome, welcome, welcome. It's March 28 and this week's been a roller coaster. You know, we've got some gut punches, some victories, and a whole lot of noise from the usual su suspects. So little your mags and let's get going. So let's start with bad news because I don't wanna sugarcoat it for you. On the 26th, the Supreme Court dropped a seven to two ruling that got everybody in the gun world grinding their teeth. They apel the Biden era, a TF regs on the so-called ghost guns. You know, those 80% receivers that, that kits that you use to build your own. Guns without the government grubby hands all over it. Justice Neil Gorsuch, unfortunately wrote the majority opinion saying The 68 Gun Control Act gives the a TF the power to slap serial numbers, background checks, and the the whole nanny state playbook on these kits only. Justice Thomas, our great hero and Alito stood tall, so God bless for them. So. You know, these aren't these untraceable ghost guns that people are talking about. You know, these are, you know, protecting our second amendment right that shall not be infringed to make our own firearms, which we've been doing for years and years and years. It's goes back to our founding fathers, but we'll, you know, it's not a complete loss. This wasn't a Second Amendment case. This was a case. Basically on the administrative act, meaning that, did the A TF overstep their authority in terms of the way they interpret the, the, the Gun Control Act? And did they have the ability to make these adjustments and these enforcements? And unfortunately the justices saw that in some cases. That there could be the potential that people could make their own firearms. And so they were really out on the fringe, but they, they left the door open that this could come back and, and be, be challenged. Hopefully, I'm hoping that the new DOJ under Pam Bondy is just gonna scrap this that, that is part of the executive order of Trump. And they're supposed to be reviewing all these things and, but we will, we will see, but it, it's not great. It would've been better, but this wasn't a Second Amendment didn't go to Heller. You know, review or anything like that, you know, it was just, did the a TF as an agency have the, the ability to make these changes to the law? So we'll have to wait and see, but, you know, I. There was some good that happened this week. While, you know, they were out ba while the Supreme Court was handling the A TFA win. The Department of Justice under Pam Bond came out swinging for our side on the 27th. The DOJ Civil Rights Divisions announced they're opening a federal investigation into the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. I. Why Dragging their feet on concealed carry permits and stopping all over Angelina's second amendment, right. The DOJ calling out undue burdens, you know those endless wait times and red tape that turned constitutional rights into a privilege for the connected and this, and get this, they sided gun owners of America's legal victory as a spark. And that's right, OA is out there winning and now the feds are taking notice. That doesn't stop there. The DOG double down saying they're launching a broader review of restrictive gun laws in California and beyond. Pam's team is on a mission to hold these blue state tyrants accountable. It feels like. Anyway, we'll see. Post on gun. I. X from gun owners of America are lighting up with the news and the NR a's clapping from the sidelines. So this is the kind of firepower we've been praying for since the Trump admin took and Cash Patel's still running the A TF, like a Patriot and with Bondy's backing him up. We might just see the agencies Jack Book days numbered. We will see still. I'm still holding my breath, but we will see. Now let's zoom out to the states. Because the, the fight's been heating up there too. And New Mexico Republicans are locked and loaded against a gun control bill that could ban AR fifteens and other rifles that left that the left loves to demonize no word yet on if it's passed. But the fact is, even on the table as patriots, even if it's on on the table, the Patriots are rallying. Meanwhile, Colorado's barreling down some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Think. Think ban on detach mags. Governor Jared Post is expecting to sign that garbage into law any day Now proving once again, the Democrats don't give a dang about our rights and over in California. Surprise, surprise, they're cooking up a bill. Required background checks for buying barrels. Barrels of all things. Yeah, you heard that, right? Not guns, not ammo, just the tube ex posts from folks like richer 88 are tracking this nonsense and it's perfect. A perfect example of how these clowns will regulate anything they can touch. But with a DOG sniffing round, maybe C is about to get a a, a, a, a reality check will keep hoping, fighting the West coast Patriots, you've, you've got backing now. So where did that leave us? Spring Goat Court case was a kick in the teeth, but it does seem like things are looking better. The DOJ is stepping up. They've actually stepped up. That's a game changer. Bondy's got an extended deadline to dismantle Biden's anti-gun Legacy, and Patel's got the a TF on a leash. For now. So put Congress, but congress is still buzzing about national concealed carry, re reciprocity. Two bills were in play this week. The one dropped off per X chatter point is the momentum shifting our we. So it's, it's a proof this week, you know that the second amendment isn't just a Right, it's a battlefield. We've got enemies in high places, but we've got warriors too. The listeners like this on this show are holding our line so. Hit us up, email me, text me, whatever you need to do, let me know what you're seeing out there and we will keep fighting. So that's it for this week. Freedom Fighters, the Supreme Court might have sold us out, but the DOJs got our six, so we'll see where things go. Keep your guns closed, your powder dry, and your voice loud. This is the Live to Shoot Defending the Second Amendment podcast. And I'm Jeff Doll signing off. Stay armed, stay free and God bless America.
