Well, welcome to the live shoot podcast. My name is Jeff Dolan and I've been a licensed farm dealer for the last 18 years. In this podcast, we talk about all things related to the Second Amendment, as well as anything else going on the news, a sports story, or anything else I want to discuss. And in this podcast, we cut through all the noise. We get to the real about our God-given rights, our freedoms, and what means to stand up and be right. Today we're gonna talk about a heavy one. I typically do not talk about mass shootings in general. And quote unquote mass shootings. Let's we, we, we will talk at that later, but but I, I did wanna touch on this one just because it, it, it is so sad and horrific about what's going on and, you know. Get this out there. And again, if you haven't heard, we're diving into the, the shooting that happened at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis the other day where two children, ages eight and 10 lost their lives and the 17 others were injured. The shooter is a 23-year-old. Male, transgender woman. We'll talk a little about that more later. I'm not gonna give them the satisfaction of, of telling, telling its name. So I'm just gonna refer to him as he,'cause he is a he. And then they. He took his own life at the, at the scene. So we're gonna talk about it and, you know, get to the, to the, what's going on in this country. First, you know, before we get too far into it, you know, my heart goes out to those families, the kids, the teachers, everyone at the school. This is definitely a cowardly. Evil act, you know, firing through church windows at innocent children during mass. I mean, there's no words that can capture the pain that I know that this community is feeling. And as a Christian. A father, a husband, and a defender of our second amendment. I'm angry and I'm really angry that this happened. And I know the anti-gun crowd, they're gonna jump on it, they already have about banning assault weapons and talking, you know, telling lies about how this was an automatic weapon. And, you know, one. One, pull the trigger and, you know, multiple rounds are fired at the same time. All of'em are out there saying it. But you know, they don't have any idea what they're talking about. But here, here's the facts that we know. The shooter went by a couple names'cause he was a transgender woman. He was armed with a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol according to what they know so far. They were all legally purchased. He fired dozens of rounds through the windows of the church targeting kids and worshipers. The FBI is calling us an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics. Thank you cat Patel and Dan Bino to have the courage to call this a hate crime because historically hate crimes can only happen against, you know, minorities. But no, this is definitely a hate crime. The sheer had a history with the school. He attended it years ago and his mother worked there until 2021. He had a manifesto and disturbing videos out on YouTube that they've all been taken down showing his obsession with mass shootings, including Sandy Hook and a mix of hateful messages. Antisemitic anti-Christian anti Donald Trump then killed Donald Trump. You know, like I said, the anti-gun folks, they're already out there screaming for more gun control, saying, this is why we need to ban assault weapons or tighten background checks, but let's be real fault. You can't, this ain't about guns. Evil people do evil things and they'll find a way to do it where they've got that, a firearm, a knife, a homemade, explosive. The police said that he had extensive criminal history and the. He had no ex, I'm sorry. He had no extensive, he had no his criminal history and the weapons were bought legally. So what law would've stopped this? More background checks, more red flag laws? No. The truth is you can't legislate evil out of existence. So what does this tragedy really expose? First, it's a heart issue, not a gun issue. His videos and writings were disturbed obsessed with violence and hate. They referenced mass shooters like Adam Lanza and even painted slurs and messages. It wasn't spur of the moment act, it was planned, deliberate, and fueled by a twisted i ideology and the system didn't catch it. Didn't catch him. Not the guns, not the backroom checks, but the people around Westman. They didn't catch the mental health issues that he was having and he was having a lot of mental health issues. Second it happened in a church, during a school mass, a place where people should feel safe, where kids should be safe. But churches, schools, malls, are all soft targets. Why? Because they're often gun-free zones. In fact, in his own manifesto, the shooter talked about how that they love schools because they're gun-free zones, they're soft targets. You know. Individuals can walk up to it and start shooting and there's nobody there to stop him until the police arrive. And they did, but it's too late. Two kids were gone. 17. Others hurt. If there's been an armed security guard, trained teachers, concealed carry parent on site, they couldn't make, probably could have stopped this sooner. Most shootings where there are people with carry permits, they, the damage that studies show is limited and, and reduced from what it would've been. So what are you saying, Jeff? You're saying armed teachers armed the priest. Well, yeah, I am, I'm saying empower good people to practice thousand others. The Second Amendment isn't just about hunting or, or sport shooting. It's about the right to defend your life, your family, your community. Look at the stats. Places with higher rates of legal concealed carry have lower rights of violence. Criminals don't follow laws and they sure as heck don't respect gun free zones. But you know, here's where I will push back a little bit. I am a two a solutionist, but I'm gonna, I'm not gonna lie, we've gotta deal with this mental health issues. And this is definitely mental health. He was a transgender person, wet woman identified as a female. And this is definitely a mental health issue. And our left has glorified this. They have cheered, you know. You know, boys competing against girls because they think they're a girl. They cheered this. They've had drag queens reading to our children. But they're, they're celebrating a mental illness and, and it needs to stop. The libs of TikTok put out a, a tweet and kind of just broke it down here, Minnesota Church. Trans, the Republican Party, firebombing, gender fluid. The Nashville shooter trans, the Colorado Tesla Arsonist trans, the Colorado Spring shooter, non-binary Aberdeen shooter, trans Denver school shooter, trans Iowa School shooter, trans slash gender fluid, a MC stab, stabber Trans. Do you see the pattern? Yeah. These people are mentally have mental illness and they need to be dealt with. They need to be not celebrated and lifted up as, as signs of, of, you know of being welcome into our society. We need to help these people, and that's where things need to start getting better. We need better systems to identify these people who are in danger themselves. But you know, not stripping law abiding citizens from their rights, but we also have to stop celebrating this trans agenda that's out there as l lgbtq plus plus dash, whatever it is, it all needs to stop. It needs to be identified that yes, these people have an illness and we need to deal with it. So. Let's wrap it up first, pray for the people in Minneapolis play. Pray for these families, their parent, the kids, the parents, the community, get involved, you know, talk to your kids about, you know, security measures at school. If you're a church goer, ask your pastor if you've got a plan for active shooters. And if you're a second adminis supporter, keep fighting for our rights. But do a smart train, prepare and be kind the kind of armed citizen who makes a difference, not a handling headline. So that's it. You know, share this don't get caught up in all the media hype about assault weapons. You know, we've gotta keep it clear and pointed on what the problem is. It's not the guns, it's evil. There will always be evil. We've gotta help these people that have this mental illness and we've gotta keep fighting for our rights because. We do have to be able to protect ourselves against, against evil, against foreign adversaries, whatever it might be, somebody trying to break into your house, you've gotta be able to protect it, and that's why the second Amendment is so important.
