Welcome to the Live Shoot Podcast. My name is Jeff Dowdle, and I've been a licensed firearm dealer for the last 19 years, I believe it is now. In this podcast, we talk about all things related to the Second Amendment, anything else going on in the world, sports story, or anything else that I might find interesting. So, uh, welcome, welcome, welcome. I'm hopping on, uh, just for a quick note because trying to keep, uh, updated on what all is just kinda going on and stuff, and didn't know if you might find this interesting, but I got inspected yesterday from the ATF. Yes, I'm an FFL dealer, like we, I tell you, and, uh, that leans affords itself the fact that I will get inspected by the ATF, and I did. And I just wanted to talk about that briefly, because one thing on this podcast, you know, we-- I call out the ATF quite a bit along the, in the, in the past, um, especially under the previous administration, even this current administration, um, about just some of their administrative rulemaking, interpretations overreaching type efforts that, uh, impact our Second Amendment rights, in my opinion. And but, you know, I have been an FFL for 19 years, and I have been inspected and interacted with the ATF here locally in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during that time. And I will say, and I've said this before, that those have always been very positive interactions. I feel fortunate to be an FFL in Dallas, uh, in Texas, per se, in, in a more friendly gun state. Um, they s- the agents that come and do the inspections, they seem to get it. And that was no different yesterday. And I just wanted to thank the agent that, um, inspected me. I won't give his name out, but uh, very fr- friendly, very pleasant. I learned some things he, uh, that I did not know. Uh, some things that I'd been doing, um, not wrong, but I, I I handled it, some things a different way, and he gave me some ways that actually that I didn't know I was allowed to do, per se. Not breaking the rules, but just misinterpreting the way things are handled on filling out the forms and, and certain things l- along that way. But it was, it was very pleasant. And so I just wanted to take the time to, to let you know that the, on the ground, the ATF for me have always been very pleasant to work with. We talked quite a bit about, you know, there has been, he, he was commenting with this new administration, a more of a shift in focus in going after the bad guys the smugglers the, the people trying to sell illegal guns and breaking up and keeping things from getting to the cartels. Uh, he said that Dallas has a reputation apparently with the cartels that not to, uh, try and s- uh, s- acquire illegal guns in this area because they will get on the radar of the ATF. And so it's good to know that the bad guys are being pursued by the ATF. And, and then this particular agent and inspector, I could tell, he, uh, he was just trying to make sure that I was doing things right, help me where if I needed to, but he was not in any effort trying to take my license away or do anything o- of that nature. That was not even on his radar. He told me some horror stories of some other, uh, inspections that he's done. And again, not necessarily people trying to, to do bad things, but just not doing things well. And so I found that interesting. But I wanted to let you know that I did get inspected, no findings, no violations whatsoever. So I will continue to do that little side hustle that I've got for another, I don't know how long I'll do it, but but it does give me insight and to, to what's going on with our Second Amendment rights, and I use that to, to share the, that information with you, and I hope you find it helpful. So, just a quick update that I got inspected, I passed, and all is good. And so, shout out to the ATF. Don't hear that much from me as well. And, uh, I will, uh, talk to you later. Will probably be another episode coming out. I think I'm gonna do an episode this, this next episode is gonna be one of our 250 episodes on the Revolution. Buckle up. We're gonna be talking about, uh, June 1776 coming up, and then next week, next month, we've got the biggie, July 1776. And actually, I'm gonna get-- continue handling doing this all the way through the end of the year, all the way through December 1776. May, may, and heck know, I may go through the, I don't know. Might keep it going through the entire end of the Revolution. I don't know. We'll see. We'll see where this goes. But, um, appreciate it. Have a good week, and I will talk to you later
